Owner of Private Hospital Discharged Baby from NICU Without Charging $20,000 Hospital Bill!

her bill reached a million pesos, but the owner decided to release her and her baby without asking her to pay for anything!

Having your body checked up and treated at a hospital can be expensive, prompting many netizens to self-medicate and look for treatments online instead. To make matters worse, public hospitals tend to be overcrowded, understaffed, and lacking in many machines. With this at hand, many patients have no choice but to check into private hospitals which are more expensive.

Mitzi Gonzales Valentino had no choice but to transfer to a private hospital as her newborn baby girl needed to be admitted to a neonatal ICU (NICU). Her daughter Summer had already ingested some of her poop, and also had a further complication of a cord coil.

The hospital took good care of Summer, especially when the hospital was complete with everything that the mother and child needed. However, they had to stay in the hospital for a few days for treatment, and the bill was starting to stack up. Within just a few days, the bill was over Php100,000 ($3,000), excluding doctors’ fees.

Mitzi soon realized she needed financial help as doctors estimated that they still needed to stay in the hospital for 3-4 weeks. Mitzi and her husband calculated that they might need at least 1 million pesos for everything.
Thankfully, a doctor reached out to them and offered to secure a spot for Summer at the NICU of a public hospital where she was connected. All they had to worry about now was to rent a ventilator as such was not available at their facility. She asked for help from friends and family (and strangers) on social media, knowing they couldn’t afford to pay for the fee which about to be due soon. However, one person who heard about Mitzi’s situation was the hospital owner himself. As soon as he knew about her situation, the unnamed owner released her from the hospital she was confined in without charging her for anything.
